Springboard - FutureChef
For over 20 years, Springboard have been helping young, unemployed, and disadvantaged people into careers in hospitality, leisure and tourism, where new talent and skills are in short supply.
Springboard was borne out of a skills crisis of home grown talent to meet the needs of the hospitality, leisure, travel, and tourism industries. Every year, Springboard manages a range of programmes that reach out to people of all ages and backgrounds across the UK.
Springboard FutureChef
The principle Springboard activity that the Cooks support is their FutureChef programme and competition. FutureChef is a nationwide schools culinary programme and competition for young people aged 12-16 that has run for over 10 years now. The programme inspires children to explore food and cooking as a life skill, develop their culinary talent, and inform them about entry routes into the hospitality industry. The competition encourages the next generation of young chefs and crowns one talented student as the FutureChef winner!
