Prisoners’ Education Trust
The Prisoners’ Education Trust exists to rehabilitate offenders through education. This is not to say that deterrence and punishment are unimportant. However, strong evidence shows that the prevention of prisoner re-offending is more likely to be realised if offenders have some way of rejoining society in a more meaningful way when they have served their sentence.
The Cooks are supporting distance learning courses in cooking and related NVQ qualifications. The outcomes of these courses can best be demonstrated by the Clink Restaurant at HMP High Down in Surrey.
